Consultancy service to Conduct Gender Audit of Legal Frameworks for Women Political Participation and Leadership Positions

WiLDAF in collaboration with Tanzania Gender-Networking Programme (TGNP) are implementing a project titled “Increase Participation of Women in Leadership and Decision-Making”. The project seeks to increase women participation in leadership and decision-making through mainstreaming gender in legal and institutional frameworks governing electoral process in Tanzania.

The anticipated results of Increase Participation of Women in Leadership and Decision-Making Project include: (i) Increased conducive legal frameworks for women political participation, (ii) Strengthened intra-parties’ policies and guidelines to mainstream gender, and (iii) Enhanced capacity of women leaders to build their leadership skills and carrying women agenda.

The project focuses on building up on the existing initiatives and interventions in promoting gender parity in leadership and decision making in Tanzania through improving legal and institutional frameworks. Thus, the project prioritizes the review of existing analysis around the subject matter, track the implementation of existing recommendations on promoting women participation in leadership and decision making and mainstreaming gender in reforms and new legislations.

Recently, WiLDAF and TGNP intend to conduct gender audit of legal and institutional frameworks governing elections and participation in leadership positions. The audit will go in detail to collect all recommendations in place and gather new emerging issues to establish gaps, challenges and opportunities towards conducive environment for women political participation and leadership positions.

In that regard, WiLDAFare now seeking for an individual to provide consultancy services to conduct such exercise.
