178 Young Women in Butiama Empowered Through Entrepreneurship and Technology Training
In Butiama District, 178 young women have been equipped with skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and the productive use of technology to strengthen their businesses and achieve economic independence. This initiative is part of the My Choice, My Right project, implemented by WiLDAF in collaboration with UNFPA Tanzania, with funding support from the Government of Finland.
These young women are among 787 beneficiaries who have been supported to enroll in VETA colleges, acquire hands-on vocational skills, and receive start-up toolkits upon graduation. The project’s ultimate goal is to empower them to build sustainable livelihoods while safeguarding themselves from gender-based violence, child marriage, and female genital mutilation (FGM).
