End Child Marriage. Invest In Girls’ Rights. Defend Their Future.

Child marriage is not a tradition to be protected; it is a violation of girls’ rights, dignity, autonomy, and freedom. No girl should be forced to trade her childhood, education, dreams, or future for a marriage she did not freely choose.

At WiLDAF Tanzania, we stand firmly for a feminist future where every girl has the power to make decisions about her own life, exercise her rights, access justice, and live free from violence, discrimination, and harmful practices.

We challenge the patriarchal systems, unequal power relations, and social norms that perpetuate child marriage and deny girls control over their bodies and futures. We advocate for stronger legal protection, accountability, access to justice, and investment in girls’ education, leadership, and empowerment.

Girls are not brides. They are rights-holders, leaders, innovators, and agents of change.

Ending child marriage is not merely about protecting girls; it is about transforming the systems that oppress them and ensuring that every girl has the freedom, resources, and opportunities to determine her own future.

When we invest in girls’ rights, we invest in equality, justice, and a future free from gender-based violence.

WiLDAF Tanzania: Advancing women’s and girls’ rights. Challenging injustice. Transforming unequal power relations.
